Zero surprise charges or lost transactions.
When you import your bank statement, Wälo recognizes the transactions you had already entered so it doesn't duplicate them, and compares the statement balance with yours. If they don't match, you see the exact difference and decide whether to record the adjustment.
Accounts that add up
Recognizes what you already entered
If you entered an expense by hand and it later arrives on the bank statement, Wälo recognizes it and doesn't duplicate it: same amount, a date within a few days, and the same last 4 card digits (or the same merchant).
A balance that adds up
You enter your account's real balance and Wälo calculates the difference from the recorded balance. If you confirm, it records it as an adjustment that doesn't count as an expense or income for the month.
Manual: Reconciliation Process
Balance every cent of your accounts.
Upload your statement
Download the statement from your bank's portal and upload it to Wälo, or forward the notifications your bank sends you to your registration email.
Wälo spots what's repeated
Wälo compares the statement's operations with the ones you already have: those that match aren't duplicated and only the new ones come in. You review the result when the import finishes.
Make the balance match
If the statement balance and Wälo's don't match, a button lets you bring the account up to date: it records the difference as an adjustment. On any account you can also reconcile: you enter the real balance and, if you want, mark the earlier transactions as Reconciled.
