Zero-Based Budget

Give every currency a job before you spend it.

Forget fixed budgets that only look at the past. The "Envelope" method (Envelope Budgeting) lets you intelligently plan the future of your liquidity.

How does it work?

  • Direct Assignment

Your liquidity level is grouped at the top of your dashboard, encouraging you to assign funds to specific categories (envelopes) until you reach exactly zero.

  • Real Multi-Currency Support

Record income in USD and transfer to EUR or COP. Exchange rate fluctuations are handled automatically.

  • Optional rollover per category

Turn on rollover for the categories you want: their leftover carries into the next month. It is off by default, so each month starts from zero until you turn it on. If you overspend, you cover it with another category's leftover.

Start Now
Available Liquidity
$ 2,450.00
Home / Rent$ 1,200 / $ 1,200
Groceries$ 400 / $ 320

You have $80 left to finish the month.

Manual: Zero-Based Budgeting

Give every cent a specific job.

Step 1

Get to Zero (Start of Month)

Take your entire projected balance for the month and enter it. The system's goal is not to restrict you, but to bring you to $0.00 'left to budget'. Even if some money is just to be kept, give it the job of 'savings'.

Step 2

Assignment into Digital Envelopes

Distribute funds among 'Food', 'Rent', 'Fun', etc. As you spend in the real world and record it, the progress bars will be consumed, showing what you can and can't do today.

Step 3

Adjusting Deviations

Spent extra at the movies and ended up negative (-$20)? No problem, pull funds from the 'Restaurants' budget and adjust. Protect your overall balance by transferring money from yourself to yourself.
