Tax Management

Make the most of every deductible cent, without being an accountant.

You mark your expenses as deductible, assign them to an IRS category, and Wälo builds your annual report with subtotals, ready for your accountant or for TurboTax (.TXF).

Your tax report, always up to date

  • Deductibles marked by you

When you record an expense you mark it as deductible. Then, in Taxes, you assign its IRS category (medical, charity, business, home office…) and it is grouped in your report for the year.

  • Subtotals by category and schedule

You see your deductible income and expenses for the year with subtotals by IRS category and its Schedule line, so you reach your accountant with everything in order.

  • One-click export to your Accountant Coming soon

When available, at the end of the month you will generate a ZIP with 1) a balanced spreadsheet, 2) backup PDF files and 3) a breakdown of entertainment expenses. Today you export your tax report to CSV or to TurboTax (.TXF).

Manual: Tax Operation

Automate your tax separation.

Step 1

Mark what's deductible

When you create or edit a transaction, mark it as tax deductible. Only what's marked goes into your tax report.

Step 2

Assign the IRS category

On the Taxes screen you assign each deductible expense its IRS category. Whatever you haven't classified yet shows up as "Unclassified", and the subtotals are built by category.

Step 3

Direct Export

Today you export your tax report to CSV, with subtotals by IRS category, or to TurboTax (.TXF). Coming soon: the 'Export Vault' button, which will generate a ZIP with the accounting sheet and its PDF backups, ready for your accountant.
